Our Bonds

“Do You Know
Do you see
What is this that you are doing to me?
Confused and alone
I sought after you.
Only to find the path I tread was not the path to you.
Where did I turn off?
Where did I go wrong?
I thought our very bonds were strong.
That which connected me to you
Shriveled; turned dank and blue.
Lifeless and limp they are torn from my cheek.
And given back to you.
I wish I could see
What happened then.
Where did they go?
What did you do to them?
Please give them back to me.
I’ll love them forever;
Just as I do you,
Even if you never.”
